tschoeberl Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 I sort of have a problem here and need alittle help on this. I am trying to get my axle nuts off of my axle and they will not budge. What do I have to do to get them off? I tried using a pipe wrench on it with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. locogato11283 Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 you need 2 pipe wrenches. one holding the inside nut while loosening the outside nut. put it in gear and have someone put on the rear brake if you can. it should come un done then... Quote
tschoeberl Posted February 25, 2005 Author Report Posted February 25, 2005 I guess I will have to buy another pipe wrench to get this done. My one pipe wrench wasn't up to the tasking last night. Plus my swingarm is not on my banshee. It is a spare one that I have hanging around. We will see what happens tonight. I want to get my new swingarm on and set up. Quote
93blueoval Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 this happens alot down in south texas with all the salt air. they corrode on, we usually have to heat the nuts up the a torch, and once we do that they come right off Quote
Skyy Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 this happens alot down in south texas with all the salt air. they corrode on, we usually have to heat the nuts up the a torch, and once we do that they come right off I would use that as last resort, cause this method could weaken your axle as it is tempered and heat could make it loose it propreties. But sometimes you really dont have a choice. Quote
