  1. whats the difference between a y-1 and a y-2 head is there one better than the other... and if anyone has the specs for both of them like "thinkness , dome size ans all" would be very appreciated. :baseball_w00t:
  2. I always tought that gas intake should be as smooth as possible,But my buddy raised suspision in my head. He said that if its rought it would spread the gas better" wich somewhat makes sensel" and that the explosion would be of a better quality. What do you guys think?
  3. ????And how does that work????
  4. It will fit, thats not the problem. If I dont have enough thread ill put it on the laid and make more thread. Just whant to make shure grade 8.8 it strong enough. I personnaly think so cause original bolt has a trough hole in it wich would make it weaker.
  5. I did think of that. Thats why I ordered my bolt longuer so that I have enough of the bolt with no thread to grab both bearings and then all I have to do is cut the excess of threads off.
  6. I was trying to take my swingarm bolt out but had to hammer it like hell cause it was bent. Then went to order a new one, and OMFG what a rip off! They wanted to charge me 60$ canadian (50$american) WTF! So I told him to shuv it up .... Anyways was wondering if anyone knows what grade that bolt is? cause I ordered a grade 8.8 for 12 bucks today.
  7. bring it somewere were they have a hydrolique press, like a local welding shop or something like that.
  8. oops forgot about the marking on the head. Its 2GU Y-2
  9. Was thinking about that today and it reminded me of when I was building Stainless Steel conveyors. We always used Stainless wire wheel cause normal wire wheel would make it rust like a bitch. And I beleive that tempered steel doesnt rust as much as regular mild steel cause of the treatment its been put trough. So maybe by using a S.S. or brass wire wheel it wouldnt rust as much or at all. (please correct me if im wrong). Anyway ima try it on mine and keep you guys updated
  10. ok RBD, got the head out today and I mesured from the head bolt stud areas to the head gasket surface, and this is what I get with a dial caliper, 0.908.
  11. Not shure but when you get it out, If you do . I would put some Loctite antiseize in there so that it doesnt happen again.
  12. KLOTZ 40:1
  13. What about buying some cleancoat like they use on cars??
  14. If wd-40 doesnt work there is better stuff out there. I really like Zep 45, works really good for me http://www.zep.com/ProductCatalog/ProductB...&subSection=977
  15. I would use that as last resort, cause this method could weaken your axle as it is tempered and heat could make it loose it propreties. But sometimes you really dont have a choice.
  16. I hear ya bros, I have a little shed as well and up hear in Canada temperature is below freezing (-10 to -25 degrees celcius) so its a little painfull on my fingers, but there is no way im taking it to the dealer Eh!.
  17. ok cool ill take a few mesurement and come back to you on that probably on sunday.
  18. I want to mill the head but im not shure if the previous owner already did, and I was wondering if there is a way to know or mesure to make shure I dont go and mill it too much.

  23. Ive took my reeds out today and to my surprise my intakes were all black . Now its all chipping out. Ive tryed to scrape it out but some parts are really stuck there, witch would make me think that it would be paint peeling of. I was wondering if banshee comes stock like that so gas flows better? or if the previous owner was stupid enough to paint it. I have pics of it if yall want to see, but have no idea how to post it. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
