BenBB Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 You can use Simple Green instead of the K&N cleaner, not sure of an alternative to the K&N oil tho. You might give Outerwears a call and see if they make one that will fit your filter... Quote
BdBanshee Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 I have always used 409 instead of K&N cleaner on my filters. A friend of mine was sponsered by K&N and he said it's the same stuff. Anyway, works great. I use either K&N filter oil, or a good quality fabric filter oil, I used BelRay last time. Quote
BURKE_DADDY Posted February 25, 2005 Author Report Posted February 25, 2005 when you use the 409 or the Simple Green do you dilute it with water or run it straight? thank you for the help Quote
y2kbanshee9187 Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 When I clean my filter I put it in kerosine and sqeeze it around, then wash it out with soap and water, blow it out, there is still some oil left on there Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Yuor not supposed to use "Blow" it out, (compressed air) you'll ruin your k&n.. Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 The outerwear solution is easy, get a nylon sock and pull it over than cut and sew it to fit. Quote
