RNBRAD Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 The only chains that have snapped on me in the past have been aftermarket chains with a clip type master link. The place that broke was the master link, I guess it has to do with the clip thing. If you have a D.I.D chain look at the instructions, it says "D.I.D. strongly recommends you to use a rivet type master link even when the clip type is available." Rrivet type is the endless chain, like a stock chain. 325343[/snapback] They need to supply the link in their chain kits then, both types or even an option. Hate when companies recommend one thing and deliver another. Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Chris used to offer us bansheehq members 20 including shipping. Everyone needs one of these. If you dont you will one day break a chain and it could put a hole in your case. Then to fix that is a pain in the ass. Quote
banshee04le Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Rrivet type is the endless chain, like a stock chain. My old banshee and my current banshee I both bought new and both stock chains had clip type links. Quote
MILO Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 i've never had any trouble with the masterlink as long as you put it on right. my cbr chain is a riveted link. i do feel a little safer at 150mph on the street with it, but it's never given me any trouble with a masterlink before either, thank god.
