tschoeberl Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 I am getting my motor rebuilt at Patriot Racing and Dan is suggesting that I run Keihin 28mm PWK carbs on my setup. Can anyone tell me their experiences with these carbs and where I can get a setup pretty cheap? How much am I looking at spending on a set of them and are they worth the money? Thanks... Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 I see them on ebay for around $200, I think you still need a cable. Quote
dave95.1 Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 http://www.carbparts.com/index.html I think they are around $170 with cable here. Quote
tats4life Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 i have dan's 350 moto x'r.....run those carbs....they bitch will fly...i got my from carb parts warehouse....i got some pipes to run if you don't have them yet. Quote
23champ Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 I got a set from magic racing once. I think the kit was $320. That included 2 carbs, proper jetting, and the cable, I would highly recomend them, they are sweet carbs, I still got em lying around somewhere. Quote

dnhyoung Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 I'm currently running a pair of 28 PWk and I love them. I can't remember where i got them, but you will definitely be pleased with them.... Quote
tschoeberl Posted February 13, 2005 Author Report Posted February 13, 2005 I remember someone saying that if you get the Keihin's that you have to get reed spacers to help clear the clutch arm. Is that right? Also, can I still run my airbox with them or do I have to get pods for them? Quote

What is the Boss Intake and how does it work? For some reason I get a pool company when I pull up the website? Are you sure on it? Where do you live in St Joeseph? My parents live there now. I think that they have been there for about 3-4 years now. I haven't been down there for a couple years. I have been over Iraq for the past year and now getting back into riding again. The motor is getting rebuilt at the end of Feb and looking forward to the new power. Quote
tats4life Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 i got the pro design intake you need to clear the clutch arm and it will work with your v-force reeds....$90 shipped. Quote
23champ Posted February 13, 2005 Report Posted February 13, 2005 I ran my 28mm pwks with stock intake vforce reeds and reed spacers. I had no problem with the clutch arm. Quote

A reed spacer is need esle it will put a good sized gruve in the bottom of the drain plug and the right had sized drain hose needs to be cut and plugged and move to the side location if your not going to use the reed spacers. But after the groove is there it stops hitting the clutch arm and works the way it normaly would.. Experice explains every thing Quote

I might be interested if I can pass it through the boss. Can I still run the stock airbox with this installed on it? Quote
