westexgt Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 My banshee will start up run fine for about 3 or 4 minutes then completely shut down. Wait a couple minutes start it back up and run for another 3 or 4 minutes with the same results. Do you guys have any clue? It runs great, while running, but then just shuts off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin Quote
Holyman Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Fuel lines are not clear. Pull the fuel valve and make sure the screens in the tank are clean. Better yet, remove the screens and put in-line filters in so you know when they're plugged up. The problem could be that when it's not running, enough gas soaks thru the junk in the screen and fills up the bowl, then you run it and it uses up the gas in the bowl and dies. My ATC I had back in the day would run until I got to the end of the street and then die. I would push it all the way home and it would start on the first pull Quote
itsaripper Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Do you have spark when the motor dies? If you do, its a restriction somewhere in the gas. If no spark, look into unhooking the tors. There is a little black box up under the left side of the gas tank. The wire on the thumb throttle needs cut but I think it needs to be wired back to its self. Then the E-brake wire need to be cut. The wires to the tors on the carbs can be unhooked too. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 when it stops running check for fuel flow and then spark. Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Clear gas lines will save you a lot of headaches. You can make your own with some clear tubeing. Quote
westexgt Posted January 25, 2005 Author Report Posted January 25, 2005 Thanks for the help. It felt like it was running out of fuel, but I figured there could be no way. I will mess around with it later in the week, maybe just order a pingel valve with clear hoses. Thanks guys. Kevin Quote
