Ruff Ryder Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Well, its actually a buddy of mine..however he has no internet access. Anyhow, He just recently purchase Toomey TR6's for his 2003 Banshee. He attempted to install them himself, and successed...however are occuring some minor (at least I think) problems. He said, He starts it up..and it runs FINE.. after warming it up for about 2-3 min....He takes its out for ride it boggs just a tad he says. After riding it for a few more min. the bogging got worse and eventually starting messing with the idle of the bike. Shutting it off after letting it idle down. Finally after inspecting everything, only thing he could fine was that there was antifreeze dripping out of the radiator area ..as if it were overheating. What could this be? I troubleshooted everything he did..and it sounds as if he installed them correctly. Thanks for ANY help you can provide... -Eric Quote
Yunggunnazracing Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Tell him to check the Carbs and there is a little hose that runs from one carb to the other, its black and its on the reed cage side. Its the choke hose, if its not on one of the carbs the bike will run and shut off and bog and spit and pop and all those kinda things, had that problem today. Quote
rockgc9 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Had the same problem with my tr-6' s when I put them on. I ended up deleting the air box completely and putting on single filters. Quote
applpro Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 (edited) Don't trust the Toomey Jet kit to be perfect. The mains included (270 & 280) might be ok for a starting point, but you had better check the jetting carefully or risk a meltdown of your motor. Edited January 24, 2005 by applpro Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 sounds lean to me causing his bike to over heat and spit coolant. needs to check his plugs. what main and pilot is in there now? Quote
