bluebanshee96 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 The seller said the timing was advanced 4 degrees. But I do have a question on that as well. On my YFZ I put a Dyna CDI on and advanced the timing 4 degrees. So if the timing is already advanced (Mechanically) on the banshee is there any benefit of running an aftermarket CDI or should I keep the stock one? 309062[/snapback] if you put an after market cdi on it you will have to retard the timing plate back to 0. An after market CDI will advance the timing to much and it will run like S$%t. I tryed to put one on mine with my timing set at 4deg and it cut out real bad when you would try to give it some throttle. Quote
fixitrod Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 The 795 series piston compensate the extra rod length if it has long rods. You can run a 4mm stroker with stock length rods and stock pistons. Quote
g_low0885 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 i have been told that if you have over 160 psi that you need atleast 100 octane. Quote

Hightempsilicone Posted January 21, 2005 Author Report Posted January 21, 2005 Ok here is some new info on the motor. Weisco Hot Rod crank 4MM strocker with superlight pistons. 180PSI on the right and 182PSI on the left. I guess now I know why he was running straight 111 octane. He did mention that he retarded the timing 4 degees not advance it. Can anybody tell me the reasoning behind retarding your timing? Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 i don't know what i'm basing my oppinion on but that seems high (180psi) is that with stock head? because i've got the same crank and mine was 152 psi on both, but that was before i evan started it after rebuilding it would that make a differance?? like the rings not being seated yet?? i don't really know i'm still new to 2-strokes Quote
Hightempsilicone Posted January 25, 2005 Author Report Posted January 25, 2005 I bought it used. I dont know the exact pistons but I do know that the stock head has been milled. It runs absolutely awesome though. I was told that it has 4 trips on the new build (about 15 days). Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 i'm with you on that hightemp mine is awesome, still only have about 1-2 hours on it though Quote
