i have just rebuilt my shee over the last couple of months but on taking it out at the weekend the thing just cut out dead as if someone had pulled the kill switch.

iit done it as i landed a jump mostly but i think it was just coincidence .

the loom is new and has checked out perfect the only thing is the coil was touching the pt hi revs not a lot just the corner of it.

what i'm thinking is that the coil is getting to hot and when i land a jump it's shorting out inside what do you lot think

Try mounting the coil on the other side of the bar for more clearance.

Coil must be relocated. Unplug Orange (+) and Black (-) and unbolt coil. Coil

needs to be mounted in same location, but on top of existing frame mount. File

paint off top side of mount where coil will touch. (This is required to ensure a

proper ground. Reinstall mounting bolts and reattach wires.

Hope this helps

i have made a longer exhaust mount to space it away the same as the one that was on there last season which i had no problem with .

i'm sure this is the problem i just need someone to say say that they have had this problem because i have a race in a couple of weeks and the first jump is a very fast up hill

I've never had a coil fail, but a high-speed miss is often a symptom of a failing coil. My CDI went out once and it was exactly as you described; died like someone hit the kill switch and it never ran again until I replaced it. I also had the stator fail from a broken solder joint, it started to run rough and then also died similarly. That's not to say that your coil isn't toast, just what I've seen happen on mine. The easiest way to test the coil is to have a shop bench test it, if that checks out it still may be bad (as with anything electrical sometimes the problem is intermittant and not easy to duplicate the exact conditions of failure). I forget Trigg, are you running an RZ motor?

yeah you are right i run the rz motor, the thing is after about 10 mins the thing will fire up the only thing i have really changed is the wiring loom and a shorter exhaust bracket on the right hand expansion chamber. i know the loom is fine becaused i have checked it to many times and to be honest that is my day job.

i'm going to build it back up tonight and let it run an see what happens i am going to have to find somewhere i can take it and hit a jump quiet hard
