H250RHATER Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 port it get it done by passion racing Quote
oldschool98 Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 um pipes lighten your flywheel. definatly porting, bigger carbs, differant ingnition , well basically im a newb to the site and to my first shee. what i think would be the best place to start is to run through the mods section and read all the posts. thats what i have done and i now have alotta nice ideas and by next summer mine will be hell on wheels aswell. spend time on the site and as questions i have found that everyone here is more than willing to help. also read the jetting faq it has taught me alot about how my motor uses fuel and how to tell when it is running properly tuning in what you already have may help more than you know9not to say you havnt already done that im just sugesting) anyway i hope your build goes well as for me my most noticable mod was my fmf pipes and silencers try there with a set you like i think the cpi's and toomy's are pretty populer. 1800bigk Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 I second the passion porting, I have a 12 port drag from passion and I have had no probs or complaints yet. I lost some bottom end but I am not concerned with how it runs in the mid to low rpm's Quote
demonspeeding42069 Posted January 15, 2005 Author Report Posted January 15, 2005 i have pipes already , but im talking about just the engine, porting and polish is there any down sides to having that done????? and whats the difference from a stage 2,3,4,5,6,7 ... 12 port job? also what about a cool head and domes are those a good idea? demonspeeding42069 Posted January 15, 2005 Author Report Posted January 15, 2005 what about the 535 cheetah kit by trinity?? would that be everything i need?? what i would like to do is send my whole engine to someplace and have them do it all up everything so when i get it all i have to do is slap it in and go like hell Quote
Big Blue Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Its all in how much you want to spend$$$$ getting it ported would be your best bet look around and pic a builder there is a fairly long post in the drag forum, or look around for a set of cylinders already ported. This would be a good set with the right carbs and pipes http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=38524. Quote

iceman Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 (edited) Get a NOSS head. And you should get some stickers, stickers add at least 50hp and 30lbs per ft of torque. Not sure what the cheetah comes with, but if it doesnt come with carbs you'd need them. Edited January 15, 2005 by iceman Quote

I think you have to send your engine cases in for trenching on that kit you mentioned. Quote

FIRST BANSHEE Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 what about the 535 cheetah kit by trinity?? would that be everything i need?? what i would like to do is send my whole engine to someplace and have them do it all up everything so when i get it all i have to do is slap it in and go like hell 306930[/snapback] get the 535 if you like to...race,sit and cool down, race, sit and cool down, race, sit and cool down, race, go home and rebuild. the 535 isn't a engine that is going to last all season.my opinion.pick a builder, tell him how you ride and what you want. let him port it and tell you which bolt on he recemends. if he does't know what works best with his work, find someone who does. good luck Quote
Wallrat Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 The faster your engine, the less reliable it will be. That's why you've got guys building a 'drag only' bike and a keeping a semi-stock extra around for actual riding. So what you need to ask yourself is, how fast do I want to go? If you slap in a +4 stroker, get it ported, new carbs, and a new head you'll be faster than 95% of the people at the hill and still be very reliable and able to ride it for fun as well. Where are you located? Quote
