Ryda85 Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 #1 welcome to the boards...lots of info here #2 your sig did not show up #3 Use the search function....its a life saver #4 you need a timing plate that is adjustable..i'm not a fan of the keys, if you set it at +4 you will see some gains and will be good for all around riding Quote

98bonerSTOCKshee Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 how much should the timing be moved with stock rods and crank? Quote
RNBRAD Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 how much should the timing be moved with stock rods and crank? 303717 +4 or +5 degree's. I'm running +5. Quote
BdBanshee Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 +4 or +5 degree's. I'm running +5. 303738 That's what I would recommend for most people also. I am running plus +5 too. Quote
Dr. Overkill Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 What's the max you'd want to advance the timing on an internally stock (just pipes, aibox, jetted) engine--if you still want to be able to run on 91 octane? And would that setting be pushing it on hot (90+F) trips? _dennis Quote
Big Blue Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I'm at +7 and I like it!! 303785 Going from +4 to +7 on mine this week. Quote

98bonerSTOCKshee Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Is +7 going to help with the low end and hurt the top? Quote
sredish Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 It'll help all over. Only thing it will affect is starting. Before, with +4, it'd cold start on first or second, but since I've gone to +7, it seems that it now takes 4 or 5 to cold start. Warm starts have always been first kick. Quote
