williamjernigan Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 My friends 88 banshee will not start up. He just did a topend rebuild and hooked everything up right it looks like and now it want start. He tried kicking it and their is compression but it just want fire. So he pulled it behing his car for like an hour trying to get it to fire last night. We checked to see if we could see a spark coming from the plugs and they did spark so I don't know why it want fire. When he pulls it behind the car it will rev up the engine and the lights will be on and bright, but it just will not fire. Have any tips. I still think that its something simple like a loose wire or something not wired up right. He doesn't have the key so he hot wired it. I'm not sure if its right so which wires go together? Quote
ledofthezep Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Do a search for a wiring diagram. One thing I'd suggest checking is your cdi connection/connector. When I was rebuilding my banshee in that connector, one of the prongs had been bent a bit to where it wasn't going in the slot it was supposed to; thus no fire & everything else was tits. Finally was going to put in yet another stator, unhooked the connector & looked at it, saw the bent prong & straitened it out, kicked the bitch twice & shee's been good since. Just something to consider...worth checking anyway. Quote
