Otis Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 What are you guys using? Does aluminum wear out all that much faster then steel rears?? Quote
RNBRAD Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I've never used aluminum. I hear they do wear out pretty quick. I currently use the sidewinder ti-moly sprockets. So far so good. Quote
BdBanshee Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Aluminum wears out REAL fast! Quote
racer Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 i use primary drive steels. 15 for a rear and 7 for a front. they may wear faster than a sidewinder but who cares since they are so friggin cheap. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I run aluminum rear. I haven't really put the miles on it like I did the stock steel, but its obvious they wear faster. Mine is a 7075 series aluminum sprocket, which is an "aircraft" quality aluminum, much stronger than 6061 but its also 5x the price when buying in bars. I mostly like it because its aluminum, one of my favorite elements. I'd love to own a stainless rear, but I'm worried that it would eat the chain instead of wearing. Quote
