I've never used aluminum. I hear they do wear out pretty quick. I currently use the sidewinder ti-moly sprockets. So far so good.

i use primary drive steels. 15 for a rear and 7 for a front. they may wear faster than a sidewinder but who cares since they are so friggin cheap.

I run aluminum rear. I haven't really put the miles on it like I did the stock steel, but its obvious they wear faster. Mine is a 7075 series aluminum sprocket, which is an "aircraft" quality aluminum, much stronger than 6061 but its also 5x the price when buying in bars.

 

I mostly like it because its aluminum, one of my favorite elements. :cheers:

I'd love to own a stainless rear, but I'm worried that it would eat the chain instead of wearing.
