I was running MC-1 in my KX250 at 60:1 because it said to run it on the back of the bottle, took me forever to get it to run, I had to pour a bunch of straight gas in, now I'm mixing it at 32:1 and it is perfect, my bike is different from a banshee but same concept, make sure you use high octane fuel too.

why does he need to run high octane gas?

high octane is for high compression so it doesnt detonate as soon i believe?? and it says no where that he has a milled head or a aftermarket head with bigger domes...therefore 93 octane would be fine..

elaborarte then.....Im curious

1. One bottle mixes 5 gallons of gas so no thinking is needed to mix it.

2. Hardly any smoke.

3. My banshee likes it.

4. Last engine rebuild was '96 I've been running it for almost a year, I'm on my second case one case mixes 60 gallons. When I started running it my compression was at 120psi both cylinders last time I checked about a month ago my compression was still at 120psi both cylinders.

5. I'm a preferred customer to Amsoil so I buy it at dealer cost.

6. They ship it too my door.

7. I don't have to go to the stealership and have all those homos who have never seen or ridden a Banshee question why I'm still mixing gas. :D

That's my list I'm sure Holyman probably can tell you some more reasons.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Do a search for "Amsoil 100:1 testimonial" and you'll get the story of a guy that races his highly modified Banshee on Amoil 100:1 mixed at 150:1. You may buy it to be cheap but you'll keep using it because it's an awesome oil.

You know us "old school" guys, ones who have been riding these two strokes for the better part of two decades.......60-1, 80-1 or anything like that just seems SCARY and wrong. Its hard for me to change, I dont like change, but its the new millenium and technology with oil has come along way.

I know some of these oils are REALLY good, and you guys swear by it, but I could go buy some, go to mix it and think to myself "dayuum, it needs more oil then that! lol Old habits, beliefs and the melt down parinoia is HARD to break....someday, I might change. lmao

Is there really a power differnce with using that oil too?

heres my reasons to use the oil I have used for a LONG time...

1...its readily available at all the gas stations we stop at along the trails

2... its really good and not very spendy

3...Ive used it for 10-15 year in all my stuff - bikes, chainsaws, snowmobiles, lawnmowers, weedwackers you name it (my sled has almost 10,000 miles on it now)

4...Im old school....I gotta mix 32-1....LOL

Here's what one guy told me...

I usually run AmsOil @ 128:1 (and have often ran @ 150:1) I've been told that the AmsOil tests are done at 200:1 but not sure if that is true. I do know it will run all day long @ 150:1 - but try to convince anyone!

My Banshee is 565cc (550 Jet-Ski pistons on a 10 mil stroker crank) with good ol' cast iron custom-built sleeves. Coated cylinder walls are not for me. Hasn't been apart for 3 seasons! When I do disassemble it, there is always plenty of blue/green oil in the crankcase so I know everything's cool.

Like others its hard to change over. I've always ran 32:1 and never had a problem using castrol snowmobile oil that only cost 10 bucks for a gallon. So this year I decided to try Amsoil at 50:1. Didn't notice any change in throttle response or power, didn't affect my jetting any. Found it harder to read plugs since the ratio is lessen. Now my oil and gas separate if I don't ride my shee for a week. When I start it, it runs like shit for a couple of minutes until the oil and gas remix......I'm going back to what works for ME......

There is no way for the oil and gas to separate. You have some other issue going on.

Tell that to my carb bowls, when I pull them off and they have oil on the bottom w/ gas on top. <_< . I'm no oil expert, but thats whats happening....

I would have figured the oil to be less dense than the gas therefore the oil on top :shootself: Don't know anything about the densities though :shrugani: I've never experienced that. I always do a little side to side shake before I start up just to mix everything up a little though.

Oil and gas can and do seperate. They have different densities so they naturally want to seperate. Though the technology in good 2 stroke oils have additives to increase miniscibility to prevent seperation. I can't say all 2 stroke oils have this cause I don't know. Banchetta, one thing to consider is that the gas in your carb bowls will evaporate leaving the oil at the bottom, which can thicken and basically gum to the bottom and it can be difficult to get off if left long enough. I've never had problems with oil settling even in my gas can that has set put almost 4 months. Then again not all oils are created equal so some may settle and some may not.
