Banchetta Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Your builder sais it might not be running right because its getting too hot and hasn't recommended you to go larger on the mains???? I'd fire him....I had 310 mains in my stroker when I first put it together. I made one run on the dyno and started melting my powercoating on my pipes. I went to 370's and gained another 10hp...your running way too lean. I'd check your compression to make sure you haven't done any damage to your cylinders.... Quote
kw04 Posted December 22, 2004 Author Report Posted December 22, 2004 just picked up all the jets and will be doing it right after xmas and i will let you know how it works out. Quote
kw04 Posted January 2, 2005 Author Report Posted January 2, 2005 (edited) well i just finished putting the mains in 380's now i think i need to do the pilots because the bottom end pretty much sucks. the top end hauls balls so im thinking around maybe a 30 pilot shoult be good what do you think. the compression is around 175 180 on both sides. went back to 32-1 mix was running a little richer to break in engine. Banchetta Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 My bottom end was great w/ stock pilots, but your porting could be totally different. Try raising the needles one clip, that might take out quite a bit of low end bog. Especially w/ winter temps...If that helps then go up another clip. Find your sweet spot. How does it start when cold? choke? how does it start when warm? Quote
kw04 Posted January 2, 2005 Author Report Posted January 2, 2005 well its not cold out it was about 60 65 when i took it out. when then engine is cold it will start usualy first kick. when it gits warmed up it might take 2 or 3 now but if i give it a little gas 1 or 2 kick. havenet had to use the choke to start it yet. but ive pulled the choke when its running then it will bog down so i think thats right. i will move the clip and see what happens. Banchetta Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 sounds like the pilots are fine. Richen the needles, bring the clip towards the pointy end or taper. I know my shee likes a really rich taper. I'm on my 6th sets of needles and it still wants more fuel at 1/8-1/4 throttle.. Quote
kw04 Posted January 3, 2005 Author Report Posted January 3, 2005 ill try that when i get home from work and let you know how it works. will that screw with the idle at all because im still trying to dial that in also? Quote
