Now that banshee cyls have created peace on the

gun debate. I thought Id give my opinion. In certian

aspects of my job I am required to carry a gun, and

have the authority to use it. To prevent bodily harm

to myself, others, and property. I have not had to

use deadly force since being in the Navy but I would

not hesitiate to do so. Now in my personal life i own guns

but do not feel I need to carry one. I figure that if i get

mugged, or threatened I can hold my own. But everyone

has their right to their opinion. As far as the deadly weapon

identity anything that can be used to cause harm is, including

bare hands. Its all a personal decision. If you feel threatened

defend yourself, or run. Ill defend myself one way or the other,

there is no fair fights anymore. just my 2 cents

First and foremost, I will say that in my one and only original post in this thread was going on the mindset of people wanting to kill this guy if they saw him doing that to someone else. Don't know why, that's just what i was thinking. Now, re-read the last part of that post. Here, I'll quote it for you...

I was putting you in the position of the one getting beat. I was putting you in the position of an innocent bystander. By all means, if you're getting you're ass handed to you, either with a weapon, or fist(s) or whatever, and you feel your life may be in danger, cap his/her ass. You seem to be caught up that I called you a pussy. I can assure you that that was not my intentions for you to take it that way. HOWEVER, if you want to shoot someone for kicking someone's ass with a skateboard, or anything for that matter, than that is simply just not right. Unless you're on the jury, or a cop, it ain't gonna happen without getin' your ass in a sling. You're reply to my post was in the context of you getting beat with the skateboard. LIke I said, if that's the case, and you have a legal permit to be carrying a weapon, and you are in fact in possession of that weapon, USE IT. I bartend in a rowdy bar. I break up many fights. i have confiscated weapons. Pistols, knifes, bats, keys, whatever they have on them. I have been threatened with all of the above. I have never needed a gun. Perhaps, there may come a time when I need one, and don't have one. It is then that I will likely be pissed for a moment. After that, it won't matter. I'll be caried by the six. This doesn't make me neither stupid, or a pussy. Not a badass. It makes me nothing. Being that you carry a firearm, makes you nothing but someone carrying a firearm. And your personal position is one that has been trained highly to use this firearm. And to answer your original post, in which you stated I would not say "that shit" to your face, I most certainly would. If I was witnessing that video unfold in front of me, and before I could jump in and get the weapon (skateboard) from the assailant, you whip out your pistol, I would certainly call you a pussy. (please don't take that the wrong way). However, if you whipped out your piece, after he whipped out his, than it's all fair game........ In the same context, once again, if he was hitting YOU, than have at it. Shoot the punk ass.

Depending on the state's criminal code, you may NOT get into deep shit if you cap a guy who is beating the snot out of another person (armed or not). Some states allow 3rd party interjection in certain cases. Pennsylvania is one of these states. Of course, some do not. Like I said, it depends on the state laws.

 

I think this thread has run it's course. I think I made the point(s) I wanted to. If some of you don't feel the need to protect yourself with a firearm, blade or whatever, that's your choice and I respect (if not agree with) it. All I ask is that you respect my right and choice to do as I please as far as self defense. (even if you don't agree with it).
