bogart Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 i use 12/41 for trails and love it.going thru the skinny trails i casn use 3rd and 4th without having to slip the clutch im almost always in my powerband area.i will be trying diffrent set ups just to play with.but for trails i wouldnt go above a 13.there isnt a problem with shifting its not like i have to shift all the time most of the time i never have to hit the clutch power is almost always there Quote
Fireman-hott Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 So according to BenBB's calc if I put on 22" tires and ran a 15t front I could pull 104mph. Damn I gotta get me some tires and goto the drag strip. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 "Push The Throttle".... tell me more about why youre knocking the 15 tooth setup. Help me understand why you cant ride wheelies anymore in first with a 15 tooth, i ride them in third up the face of the dune. What gives man?......just asking. 280608[/snapback] Sorry didn't see that you asked me a question. I'm liking the 15 better(getting used to it) but the 16 is still my favorite. I didn't mean that I can't ride them in first with the 15 what I meant was I can't keep it up with the 15 like I could with the 16 I'm getting better though(I think I need a Viagra Sticker). When I mentioned 1st gear I just meant that it's pretty well useless for pulling wheelies, I can't wheelie very slow. I could pull a wheelie easier in 4th running the 16 than I can with the 15? I'm not sure why but keep in mind that this is on dirt and grass not sand. I'm assuming it's more a function of tire slip than anything else. I did have my paddles on last weekend so I could screw around on our sand bar and it's much easier to ride the wheelies in the sand with the 15/40 gearing and I think that gearing would be awesome in the dunes.
