road racer Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 What would be the best improvement over stock? Single or duals? What kind and size would be the best for overall performance and top end? roadracer Quote
sredish Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I'd say keep your stockers, throw a TORS removal kit on them and get them bored to 28mm and your good to go. Quote
Wassup350 Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I'd say for overall performance get a 2 into 1 intake w/ a 35 mm carb. Thatll get you a lotta low end and still improve top end. Plus stock carbs suck because once they get worn out there is somethign on them that makes the damn throttle stick when they get wet. Plus its so easy to rejet with 1 carb Thats just my opinion though, if you dont care about low end then just get some dual 35 mm carbs. Quote
road racer Posted October 31, 2004 Author Report Posted October 31, 2004 Is it the tors that causes the stock carbs to stick when wet or something else? It is very annoying and if possible I want to cure it from sticking. Does the trinity 2 into one improve top end more than stock or maybe a set of 30mm keihins? Quote

The single carb DOES increase top end over stock carbs, not as much as a pair of 30's, but the single will give you much more low/mid than a pair of 30's. So, you'll get better overall power with the single carb. I would've suggested it at first, but you mentioned top end, and not low/mid. It's what I run, and it'll take a lot of work to get me to change back to duals. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 (edited) Duals for the topend, single for bottom to top but a little less on top, I run the single it's easy to tune looks great, and you don't have the normal banshee carb troubles. just my opinion Edited November 1, 2004 by FIRST BANSHEE Quote
jasonsb Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 I'd say keep your stockers, throw a TORS removal kit on them and get them bored to 28mm and your good to go. Will you really get great gains in top end by boring stock carbs? Or is it better to by a set of PWK 30 on ebay. Is it hard and/or expensive to bore stock carbs? The reason I'm asking is cause I have port work and finally got my bike to run perfect with stockers...but now I want to increase the top end without going to 34 or 35 carbs. My bike ran like crap with 34pj carbs when I first ported the cylinders. Quote
