bansheeigo Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Who has a outerwear cover on their airbox? If you do,do you also have an outerwear on your filter at the same time?Is it ok just to have the cover on only without an outerwear on the filter? Thanks for your replies. Quote
banshdog Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 I have an outerwear on my airbox, and not on my filter. I was told that it doesnt really matter where the outerwear is, as long as you have one. they will serve the same purpose, where ever it is located. I chose the outerwear on the top of the box to try and keep more debris out of the box itself. Quote
sredish Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 I've been wanting one, but they're just so damned expensive. How do they attach, do you have to fasten some velcro in? Quote
banshdog Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 the outerwear has velcro on it, and comes with a strip of velcro with adhesive on it. just stick the velcro to the rim of the air box, and ur done. (in my sig) I have the UM air box, and the outerwear is made to fit it. my brother made his. he cut some old outerwears up and sewed them back together. then sewed on some velcro strips and waaalaaaaa..... his airbox is different then mine though. not sure it there is an outerwear that fits it. 00BANSHEE Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Don't use that cheap ass velcro that will just come unstuck. Here is the best way to go IMO for an aftermarket lid with the outerwear filter built in. I run one of these on the 450 and they are top notch quality. EHS Racing Lids Quote

EHS Racing Lids I would run the velcro... it will suck twice as much air in as this thing Quote
BigRed350x Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Just get a pair of "huge bitch" panty hose and stretch those fuckers over your entire airbox without the lid. Sha-Bam! Oh yeah, you have to have a clamp on filter... Quote
