Mod Banshee Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 What is better Aluminum or Steel or nacs Aluminum Extra Light Version? Quote
Mod Banshee Posted October 2, 2004 Author Report Posted October 2, 2004 Can someone help me out? I want one that will hold up and does not weight allot. Quote
sredish Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 ANY aluminum is gonna wear much faster than steel, especially in sand. Why are you wanting to run aluminum sprockets? The best sprockets for your buck are the cheap ass steel JT and Primary Drive ones that cost under $15. They'll last longer than any aluminum times 2 and are cheaper. I don't know anything about Nac's Extra Light beer, i mean sprockets, but i don't imagine they're anything special other than a name. Aluminum is for the guys that can afford to buy a new sprocket after every other race or the ones that are sponsored. If you wanna actually buy something better than regular old steel, buy a Sidewinder. Quote
decon Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 what about rethnal sprockets? they are susposed to be real stong, they better be for $25 dollors. Quote
German Shepherd Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Side winder brand makes the best sprokets and chaines. They have a variety, how ever expensive, but they are worth it. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 primary drive is tight. 7 bucks for a front and 15 for a rear. how many times could i replace them if i wanted for the price of the high priced ones? in fact ive never had to replace any of my PD sprockets. they are all still perfect. racer Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 primary drive is tight. got that right. on a side note though, DO NOT cheap out on chains. they are a whole different story. Quote
badshee98 Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 never had a problem with a primary drive sprocket until about a month ago. shattered it into 3 pieces. luckily, it didn't tear up the output shaft. put another sprocket on and kept going. Quote
banshee76179 Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 primary drive is tight. on a side note though, DO NOT cheap out on chains. they are a whole different story. U got that sh*t right/ don't mess around w/cheap chains or U will be sorry.... Quote
