Just get a throttle cable for the thumb and tors kit if the quad has stock carbs and no tors.. the big boxes on top the carbs.... or aftermarket carbs. You can get the cable at toomeys website for 19.99 I think. Other than that, it's just a bolt on.

dude, why youre already into it, get rid of the TORS. It will make it that much easier to do any kind of maintainence related to your intake system in the future.

1st shit can the TORS, 2nd do what he said and go get a thumb throttle cable (TORS delete), 3rd download the instruction from the Toomey website. It tells you in detail how to do EVERYTHING.... set up new idle screws, put your new throttle cable in the carb slides, how to sync them up, ect. You cant go wrong with this instruction. I used the very same one a couple of months ago to tackle the same job.

Plus, the upside of doing your own work is you'll become more familiar with your carbs and how everything is working making you more confident to do things later on like jetting, carb swap carb cleaning....you get the picture.

These guys are dead on; if you can, get the TORS removal kit and a thumb throttle cable for it. The throttles will be a simple unbolt one and bolt on the other affair. The TORS elimination isn't hard, just take your time (got some stuff on it in the Jetting FAQ below). The easy way to replace the cable without pulling off the front fenders & fuel tank is to tape the carb end of the new cable to the handlebar end of the old one, and pull it through so it routes exactly the same.

Don't forget to check the carb sync afterwards, make sure there's slack in the cable, and turn the bars to full lock both ways to make sure the cable isn't in a bind anywhere. Good luck.

I am having the same problem..i currently have the twist throttle on my shee and as far as i can tell the tors has already been taken off. I bought a new cable on ebay and the problem im running into is that the little tubular ends on the cable that keep the cable locked in the throttle valve assembly are to big to get into my carb lids....do i have aftermarket carbs? and if so how do i find a cable that will work??

How can we possibly know if you have non stock carbs or not?

On the other hand you user name suggests that maybe you have a 420 big bore Banshee.

Or is that just a dream of yours?

If you do have a big bore shee then you very well may have larger carbs. I would!

Why don't you remove a carb and measure the inlet that connects to the filter boot. Use a metric scale. If it's bigger that 26 mm then you don't have stock carbs. Measure the ID (inside diameter) of the opening.

But i think what you need to get are the carb caps that should go with the TORS removal kit throttle cable.

Let us know what carbs you have. We can't tell you anything if we don't know. And there are other things you need to do to your carbs ir there is no TORS. But if you don't have TORS now then it should already be done. More info!!!
