stones are caused in part by what we drink

drinks with lots of oxides

teas soda and kool aid will let certain things buil up in our bodies and develope into stones

and i bet that beer is one of them to but why stop drinkin it tastes too good to quit

Well, the doc said to stay away from beer for a couple/few weeks. He seems to think that a calcium build-up was probably caused by them...in relation to the massive amounts of CMB's I consume. But I said screw it & hit my buddy's kegger the other night...forgot about them until the next morning, then ouch...ouch..HOLY SHIT...ouch...hehe guess ya had to be there, but be glad you weren't. :P So I'm taking it easy for a while...staying pilled out on tab 10's... ;)

Led i am Curious do you eat alot of sunflower seeds?

Uh...well...since you mention it; yes...sure do, lots of---

I had kidney stones a few years back...I woke up one morning and it literally felt like someone was twisting a knife in my flesh. The absolute worst pain I think I ever had. Went to the emergency room and got a shot of Demoral and was peachy for the rest of the day. Thankfully when I was sedated I passed the stones and got to go home. It's amazing what them little boogers will do to you, so small yet the pain is almost unbearable. My doc said that my stones were more than likely caused by excessive amounts of caffeine and calcium deposits...Damn led, glad you're OK!!! I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone...except maybe the Iraqi's

Thats the answer I was going to give. If you consume a lot of caffiene (even exessive amounts of spinach will do it) it will drive the calcium out of your body, and the kidneys try to filter it. I drink a lot of coffee, but I also try to keep the water uptake high as well. I have no desire to piss gravel.

OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH SSHHHHHHIIIIIIIITTTT!!!!

For some reason, over the last few weeks, I've been having a scare of the kidney stones. I don't have any, but there have been quite a few around me that have had them or have been telling the stories. They sound very very very painful and I feel for anyone that has them.

I heard about a study they did that people that had equal to 2 cups of coffee a day or over twice as likely to have them, and it's related to the caffeine. People who regularlly take in that much caffeine showed a HUUUGGGE jump in calcium in their urine and that's what they attribute to the kidney stones.

Now, the people around here that know me, know I carry around a one gallon jug of wonderful super sweet tea and i chug on it all day. I'll go through a gallon in maybe two days. Now, I've gone down to gatorade and water. go figure. Also cause I'm trying to get my "figure" back. 6'3 and 200lbs is fine, but when it's in the right spots. ;)

Sorry to hear about your deal and I hope it didn't waller you out to the size of a golf ball.

Me 2...well I did, haven't had any coffee since last Monday. :shootself: I'd drink a cup of coffee every morning...then water throughout the rest of the day, until I got home...then beer.

Now I'm just drinking water, gatorade, and cranberry juice. :) Going to 'try' and hold off on the beer for this week at least. I don't feel the need to piss out the equivilent of chunky tomato soup with some sand grains mixed in EVER AGAIN.
