Can someone help me figure out this backfiring problem i have. it wouldn't idle but ran fine in mid-range and high end. I didn't get a chance to check yet but when i turned the bars one way it would idle. Also when I let off the gas it would backfire. please help me.

Sounds lean..

 

try adjusting air screw/needle

 

hows it on the bottom end?

If bogs on the bottom try going up on ur pilots.

 

ur plugs is the key what color r the plugs?

Not sure about the backfire, but sounds like your throtel cable housing is either broken/cracked, or dosen't have enough play/misrouted (when you turn your handle bars it idels because the throtel cable is getting pulled.)

It's possible have u had it apart..?

 

I would check the gap on the pick-up coil from the flywheel...

that could be the problem....

Ok enough with the guesses... take the pilot jets out and clean them out with a needle or small wire. After you put the carbs back together double check the air screw settings.
