siezed-up Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 After my cylinders are ported should you open the windows on the pistons to match the ports? Quote
Indubitably Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 I would leave that to your bulider, they will decide whether or not its is necessary and they will do it. Quote
FORMULASPEED Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 I would buy pistons with the windows opened up. Cause if you do it the harmonic vibration could cause micro cracks and then they could shatter in your cylinders. Trinity, vitos, namura, wsm all have opened windows Duncan racing I believe will cut you some too. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 how much does that really help? seems to me that it would only make the piston weaker as well. i dont think id try it myself. maybe an engine builder with some experience can help you. pm passionre and see what he thinks. siezed-up Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 I have done it, with no noticeable problems with the piston. I'm wondering how much you would gain by doing it. In theory it should allow more fuel into the crankcase right? Quote
