roosthrower Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 take the silencers off or take the packing and core out of the silencer. Quote
SICK BOY Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 (edited) Why do you want them to be louder?Do you like getting headaches? Edited September 12, 2004 by SICK BOY Quote
decon Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 go buy some Toomey T3 Silencers off of http://www.toomey.com/ if you want to make em really loud. Quote
nickxc Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 take the silencers off or take the packing and core out of the silencer My buddy did this to his fmf silencer on his scrambler and he thought he noticed a slight loss in power but man was it frickin loud!!! However its about the only cheap way to make your fmf silencers louder. If you can spare a little cash the best way is to find out what other brand silencers will fit the fmf pipes that you have. Im sure there are louder ones that fit them. OR you can just ditch the fmf's on ebay for whatever you can get out of them and seach ebay for another brand pipe and silencer that is louder and maybe more powerful. This alternative will prolly get it done with out costing you any money (i.e. sell the fmf's for $250 and buy another set of pipes off ebay for around $250 ya know??) but you will prolly have a little down time while you are searching for another brand of pipes to buy... Thats the best I can come up with for ya... Quote
Ducman Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 To make FMF's louder trade them in for a set of CPI's Seriously though, if you take the packing out of the silencers it will be louder but will also hurt performance. You could try to graft a set of silencers from different brand of pipes on but it may have negative effects on performance as well. The silencers play a role in the pipes tunning. Quote
QuadMX Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Here's what you do...Take the silencers off, throw them away. All done. I have powercore 2 silencers and they don't have packing. They are freaking loud. They sound cool, but I like the sound with packing in better. Just haven't gotten around to doing it. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 cut a few inches off of them and put the endcap back on. thats what i did with the silencer on the cr500 banshee. if you cut them youll prolly gain a little on bottom. Quote
