fernando427 Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Every thing I have read about plug chopping envolves winding the shee out in 6 gear. Can it be done in any other gear like 2nd? I have t-5s on 03 shee pro flow adapter k&n lid on no snorkel. I am running the tommey specs which is 280 mains and the toomey needles. I run it at el mirage which is about 3000 feet above around 90 deg and also at pismo beach wheres its about 70 deg sea level, but I want to remove my lid. Theres a place by my house where i can run it but not enough room to do a 6 gear chop. Will i just have to do the chop when i go riding? Any help is appreciated. Quote
BansheeBrian Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Welcome to the BHQ! You can do a chop in 5th if you can. You want to achieve the best reading possible.Never shortcut a plug chop. Those are critical to the life of your motor.A lean condition on the mains scares the crap out of most banshee owners. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 i agree full out, get into the highest gear you can, at the highest rpm's , thatll make sure you dont blow it up doing wat in the sand somewhere Quote

Blue Duece Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Will i just have to do the chop when i go riding? if its an elevation change thats where id do it.......i like ringing third out but im geared pretty tall, either fresh plugs or look at it, reinstall it, bang it over and dragg it to your prefered high gear, lugging it loads it up, then your buring that off and sometimes it can make it appear rich when really its lean just burning off shit from the pilots, and not having a load on the chassis helps also i.e. shooting comp hill to do a plug chop.... fernando427 Posted September 10, 2004 Author Report Posted September 10, 2004 Thanks for the info guys.I got some new plugs today so ill try a chop saturday. Quote
sredish Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I actually try to use old plugs not new ones. New ones will need to be ran for 15 to 30 minutes pretty hard to start coloring much at all. If you just put them in and go plug chop, they might not have hardly any color, skewing your readings.
