jet kits ?

i just got my yfz450 and i still got my banshee, but i was wondering am i best to buy a kit or buy things individual ? how many jets should i buy also ?

 

with cam mod/airbox lid removed/baffle out.... then later in the year a 488cc kit with pipe/air filter

i personally think jet kits are a waste of money. just go out and buy what you need.

Even my dealer told me that jet kits are a scam. The only diff between the "stage 1&2" and so on is the different jets and a needle andwhat possition it tells you to put the needle clip on. It's cheeaper to just get the jets you need and go from there.

If you are under 2000' elevation go with a 168 main 45 pilot and #5 clip with the stock needle. that should get you pretty close. That is where I am at and it runs perfect.

I agree, do not buy the kits. My buddy bought a pipe and new filter for his 450, got the recommended jet kit for it all, and ended up having to buy new jets anyway. every jet in the kit was too small.

 

Dialing in the jets on a Banshee was easier than on his 450, not enough room to work.
