NugShee Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Hey guys, I need a little help with my girlfriends Blaster. Its pretty much brand new and has only been ridden a few times. Everything on it is completely stock. Lately when we have gone riding she says that it hesitates in each gear. Its like its got carbon build up and then it runs fine once you burn it off but I took it for a little test ride last time and noticed the thing was gutless. I know I might have just been used to my banshee but it really did seem to have about half the power that it used to. It is a 2001 and might have 5 good rides on it. Please help me out so I can get it fixed before this weekend. Thanks a bunch, Mike Quote
Banshee~ Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Did you buy it new?I would go to Blaster HQ yea there's a bunch of banshee haters on there, but it makes for a good laugh .... Quote
NugShee Posted September 1, 2004 Author Report Posted September 1, 2004 I have gone to that site but have never found any forums on there. All I find is pictures. Banshee haters? thats horible heheheh. thanks again. Quote
NugShee Posted September 4, 2004 Author Report Posted September 4, 2004 Thanks guys, for some reason I still cant find a forum on the blasterhq and I cant register there because it wont send me the activation email. Anyway I tested the compression today and it was 115psi. Is that low? also spark plug looked good and so did the air filter. I got some 110 octane gas and am going to see if that will help any. If anyone can think of something that might be causing the blaster to run poorly please let me know. Thanks again. Quote
Screamin_Demon Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 I think you had the answer to the problem all along... it's a blaster... simple as that. Quote
SICK BOY Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 The best help for a Blaster lacking power is to install a Banshee motor in it. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 try cleanin the carb out,go though the same things you would on a banshee, only diffrence is this thing is smaller and easier to work on Quote
holeshotkid Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 I agree with fro on this. Clean the carb good. As far as hesitation goes, try adjusting the a/f screw. Also, with only 115 lbs of compression, I wouldn't waste your money on using 110 octane fuel. It will not benefit from it in any way. Quote
Banshee~ Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 stock blasters should have around 135 ill pm you my blasterhq id Quote
Cooker Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 115# of compression is LOW, you might pull the head and have a look. Also, the lower the compression the lower octane rating you need, not the opposite. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 The best and really only way to make a Blaster seem like it has more power is to follow these three easy steps. 1. Rent a small vehicle storage unit for exactly 2 years 115 days and lock the Banshee in it without looking at or thinking about it for the entire time. 2. The only method of transportation for the period of time in step 1, other than walking, a unicycle and if you can't ride one you may substitute a big wheel, and of course the Blaster. 3. The most important step only ride the Blaster down hill at max speed. Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Put the 240 kit on it from vitos and then stroke it with a bigger carb and it will haul. Quote
