00BlueShee Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 Do u have to rejet when u switch domes on a pro design cool head ? for example 21cc to 19cc, and whats the most compression a stock crank can handle?, thanks Quote
Banchetta Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 You shouldn't have to rejet, but you might want to think about race fuel w/ 19cc domes. Quote
00BlueShee Posted August 20, 2004 Author Report Posted August 20, 2004 Ya thats what I was thinking but I wasnt sure. I plan to use 107 octane with 40:1 mix or maybe 32:1 not sure yet. Quote

Go w/ the 32:1 ratio....You won't gain anything w/ the 40:1, the richer mixture will help keep you temps down and have better lubrication and engine life. Quote
00BlueShee Posted August 20, 2004 Author Report Posted August 20, 2004 I wanna try to run the lowest dome size, but i have a stock crank and its not trued and welded. whats the lowest u think i could go? Quote
decon Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 (edited) I wanna try to run the lowest dome size, but i have a stock crank and its not trued and welded. whats the lowest u think i could go? a trued and welded crank is for when u have porting modifications done to the cylinders. lower cc domes are recommended alcohol conversion banshees (16-17cc). the lowest u can go is 18cc and up, which requires 110 octane or better. Banchetta Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 I wouldn't go under 20-21cc domes w/ a stock crank unless your up there in elevation...Most shees can run up to 165psi w/o any problems w/ the cranks....At sea level.....21cc....1500' or higher than go w/ 20cc domes. Quote
BMackKC Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 trued and welded cranks are also good if u like to jump. Riding at the dunes you will need this. I just had to do that because my crank twisted and knocked a hole in the block Quote
Shee_Man Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 people say it costs about $60 to weld your crank... do you have to split the cases to do this though... I don't understand what is "welded" the guy I bought my banshee from JUST had the whole engine done when I bought it (bill was over $1200 according to the one he gave me)... so it's a new crank and I don't want to split the cases again so soon. Banchetta Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 If it has a new crank, then most likely its already welded. Unless he put a stock crank in there and didn't weld it. That would be stupid. I'd think he would have. You do have to pull the crank to weld it. They weld it where the crank is pressed together. (2 halfs) Quote
