mrman99 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 finally got my 12 port stroker from passionre put together. I ran it for 15 mins, and notice oil leaking out of the exhuast ports. Anyone seen this? Its quite a bit of oil, enough to put a small puddle on the ground, about 1/8 of a cup worth. I smelt it, and it had no gas fume. I was thinking it might be transmission oil. but how did it get to the exhuast ports. Smoke coming out of the exhuast looks fine. Anyone with any ideas? Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 one of the seals is bad, what it sounds like to me, which pipe? Quote
PassionRE Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 What oil mixture?, If your exhausts look fine its probably just the prelube+ premix. Keep an eye on your trans fluid level, clean up the mess and keep an eye on it....Jim Quote
Banchetta Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Exhaust port meaning between the exhaust pipe and cylinder? If so, then you have bad o-rings in the pipes or did you forget them? Quote
mrman99 Posted August 8, 2004 Author Report Posted August 8, 2004 orings in the pipes? don't think i ever seen em. I have LRD's and they're leaking from the exhuast port, where the pipes meet the cylinders. I looked at my tranny oil and it looks ok. other then that everything seems to be ok. Quote

If you pull the header pipe off and look inside, you'll see a groove in the pipe about 1/4" from the opening where the oring sits in there. Your supposed to pull the stock ones out the stock exhaust and put them in the new exhaust. Thats the only way to seal the pipes.... Quote
