Longrod370 Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I just started to use Mystery Oil after my last rebuild about 6 months ago (one ounce to every gal + regular 32.1 yamalube ). Last week when i went to tear it appart there was almost no carbon or deposit build up, the only little bit of black was on the end of the exhaust port. and on top of that. just curious if anyone else has had good luck with this stuff!? bansheeryder_69 Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 I use John Deer 2 cycle motor oil. Its way cheap and made not to burn down, and from what I've been told and experienced so far, It's the shiznit! Quote
ledofthezep Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 I put a little in my AV gas that I run in my buggy... Quote
Holyman Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Why would you tear down an engine only 6 months after rebuild? I ran Yamalube at 40:1 for 4 and there were no deposits. I'm not bashing the Mystery Oil... just telling my experience. Quote
AZRAEL Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Here is a (MSDS) Material Safety Data Sheets on Mystery Oil MSDS Mystery Oil it is a Pdf file. Quote
jinx44 Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 i usually use it as an assembly lube, and it does work, never added it to fuel though i geuss it wouldnt hurt I have used it for years in 4 stroke rebuilds. I have never tried it in 2-strokes. Works great and won't burn off the rings like oil will and it won't carbon. I've rebuilt many V-8's and have never had a ring seating problem since using it. Quote
Longrod370 Posted August 11, 2004 Author Report Posted August 11, 2004 I had to tear it down, becasue i had a small leak in my base gasket, didnt want any air leaks! Quote
Longrod370 Posted August 11, 2004 Author Report Posted August 11, 2004 thanks for the msds! -mike Quote
