lastlegwarrior Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I was just wondering what's next? I already have a set of toomey T-5's, dual K&N clamp ons (obviously no airbox), currently i'm running a 300 main. Also most likely i'll be getting an adjustable timing plate and run 4 degrees advanced. I would really like to get a passion racing 12 port done, but i've been noticing a couple people say that unless you have bigger carbs then it sucks. Although i do realize that bigger carbs would greatly help, unfortunately i don't have the extra cash right now for the carbs, still kind of recovering from the last banshee accident that left me with a broken leg. In return my normal summer job was down the drain. in other words cash is short. But basically i was wondering do i have to get bigger carbs to notice a nice difference and also is there anything i should get before i get a port job (meaning anything i need different that would hinder my port job.) any info is greatly appreciated, thanks. rebelbanshee2 Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 im still running 28mm mikunis and it flat hauls still. It will still be fast with stock carbs...just not as fast Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 if you go with a passion 12 port and dont get either 34 or 35 mm carbs its not gonna run anywhere near its full potential. if you wanna keep stock carbs i would suggest getting a different kind of port job. the 12 port has an extra intake port allowing it to pull more fuel and air. with stock carbs you arent gonna get anywhere near the amount of flow you need. so id either save up a little more and be able to get some carbs or get a woods port or a minor top end port. cjm02ram Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 you can get a set of carbs for cheap. Jim has 34's for like $300 I bealieve. Quote
prichard9966 Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 that motor rips with stock carbs and when you can afford the new carbs you just bolt them on. do the 12 port and then get the carbs. Quote
