HangingTough Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 (edited) Got 2 problems and need help. I put 70w-90 Amsoil in Crankcase and now all of a sudden fluid is coming out two studs ( the ones right behind the drain hole that are really close together) constantly on the bottom of my engine. Not sure why or what to do....Also put new G3 reeds with the spacer in today and up Main Jet to 190 and now I have fuel coming out the bottom of the carb. I think its that overflow nipple. But never had this problem with fuel spraying out when I revv up on the throttle need Help Edited July 17, 2004 by HangingTough Quote
DirtRider Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 you need a new gasket for that oil leek. and i dont know about that fuel leak. maybe check the floater hight Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 holy shit! shouldent you be runnin 10w-30?, check to make your floats aint stuck for the carb problem, try tapping the bottom of the carb wtih a screwdriver first before you tear em apart Quote
jadaven Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 My god thats some heavy oil! If i put anything heavyer than 10w30 it misses shifts Quote
hamuel Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 I use redline lightweight shockproof gear oil I beleave it's 75W140. I only miss shift if i slam it into second gear. Quote
chase73 Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 first of all the weight of that oil he said is fine if its gear oil !!!!!! and it is second the oil leaking from the bottom of the cases is a lttle odd have you ever split the cases ???? if not its the yamabond or simalard liquid gasket seal that is not working you can try going to the hardware store and getting some copper washers that fit the studs snug and see if they will seal the leak this is just a idea. I am sorry to tell you that the real fix is to split cases and scrap of old gasket and reaply yamabond 5 . The reeds you installed are not the issue it is your floats you didnt take your carbs apart did you ??? or turn them upside down if so tap them and see if you can free them if not just remove them and look iside them to see if floats are ok they are ether stuck or have leak. Also the big concern isthe main jet you say you are using a 190 ???????man that is lean even in a stocker where are u located ????? I am pretty sure with the g3 reeds you need to jet way up and since stock jetting is 220 you should be at atleast 250 !!!!! the guy who sells the g3 reeds will help if you call him he is pretty cool about it Quote
svtkid78 Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Yeah I am not to sure about those 190 jets. Quote
racer Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 went to 230's on my v-forces and from what i hear those g-3's may flow even a lil more. jet UP. Quote
