spoolnvr4 Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 So last night I tackled the project of installing the Toomey TR6 pipe kit. After reviewing the instructions I didn Quote
MotulMonsta Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I remember when I first ran my old T-5's on a basicaly stock motor..Never forget that feeling. Lacked a little on the low end, but man did that fucker pull. Quote
vulvapndr Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I just got mine today what did you do about the problem with them lining up im going to install in the morning just to save me the headache Quote
spoolnvr4 Posted July 7, 2004 Author Report Posted July 7, 2004 i replied to your PM you sent... basically you have the pipes, the stinger tubes, and the muffler.. the tubes have brackets and they clearly dont lien up... ill try to snap soem pics... Quote
vulvapndr Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 well I put the pipes on I did have a slight prob with the left side as you sit on the bike. I just put the pipe on and springs left everything else loose and with a little push on the silencer I got the forward bracket on the stinger tube in place put the bolt in place snugged every thing down and now shee runs like a bat outta hell. Oh yeah thanks for the tip on the springs with the wonder bread wire work like a charm Quote
vulvapndr Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 oh yeah the reversing of the radiator line on my bike which is 02 the little rubber deal that holds the metal spring up is moveable so all i did was move it down along with the spring so no more hot exhaust near the line no removing of radiator lines no mess and 10 - 15 min less work and more time to rip Quote
spoolnvr4 Posted July 8, 2004 Author Report Posted July 8, 2004 i think it is moveable on all bikes... i started to pull on it to put the rad hose off... and well it moved the rubber ring on the hose... and yes the wonder bread routine is great... today i took it out on the street in front of my house... i could only get it into second gear... didnt need the po-po coming by... well its really nice.. the front was jsut off the ground the whole time through second... vulvapndr... are you talking bout the mounts on the mufflers... i got those on perfect... but after soem pulling and pushing... i still couldnt get the other bracket to line up.. the one on the small pipes between the big pipes and the mufflers... also the pipes jsut sound amazing... Quote
vulvapndr Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 yeah Im talking about the bracket on the stinger pipe or the long skinny one, I also rode my bike for a few mins what a wicked improvement but living on an air force base you cant mess around like that because you get into a whole world of crap but they do sound awesome and I cant wait to hit glamis in november Quote
spoolnvr4 Posted July 9, 2004 Author Report Posted July 9, 2004 i think i might be able to get it to line up... but i think its gonna be tough...lol Quote
sandgrencivic2k1 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Mine lined up no problem. But you need to leave everything loose until all the bolts are in place. Because if you tighten any part of it, you dont get the movement needed to line up. Especially leave the front rubber mounts loose, because then need to move to get everything in place. Quote
spoolnvr4 Posted July 12, 2004 Author Report Posted July 12, 2004 ill have to try that... also... i took it out today, in the sand... this thing rocks... it is fukin fast as hell... i toped it out... and it was scary... i just put aset of new ITP sandstar's on adn it felt great... my friend has a duncan 410cc kit, carbs, pipes... he said mine feels faster... i think he needs to tune his probally to get the most out of it... but it def rocks Quote
