jadaven
Alright this one of those choices that probably gonna difine my ride. which shock is better Elka, Works... or something else. Im gonna go for a triple rate shock. i mostly ride trails and old logging roads and through alot of river bank kinda terrain (sandy with lots of logs and creeks and crap.) anyone got an opinion on which brand is better. Im looking for a shock that doesnt break or need rebuilt much. all i know is that the stock shocks are dead. Thanks
nater006
Well like Capital One says... what's in your wallet? Either choice will do you fine. Elkas are going to cost a bit more. IMHO, you don't need something like Elkas unless you're racing. I got Works triple rates on mine (came w/ the bike) and they take some pretty good abuse. If you're going to race, or do other crazy things and get big air time or similar, Elkas are the way to go. Otherwise, save your money and and Works will be a really good step up from the stockers. locogato11283
if anything most people on HQ run elkas. i run them and i wouldnt trade them for shit. i have them on my silver banshee and it rides like a caddy up front, but the cr500 has stock shocks and it sucks. i dont think theres much comparison between works and elkas. if you have the extra money or can wait and save for them, id seriously skip the works and go straight for the elkas. i ride fast paced trails, hills and wide open fields all the time. they have never failed me yet after 2 hard years of riding. Fox73-Zz
Don't forget about TCS. IMO, comparable to elka, at a little lower price. I purchased mine through CT Racing, but you can also get them from TCS themselves. Sorry, I don't have the number to reach Todd (the owner)....do a search for it and it will come up I am sure.
