Cotton eyed Joe Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Nice work stan, how bout one with the yamaha logo on it???? i second that... It sort of looks like that. Not really though. I also made the periphery look similar to a sprocket with 9 "gripper gripping handles" to make it a little easier to grab on to with out making it too sharp. Quote
DirtRider Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 can you make one of those out of stainless steel? how much you planing on selling those for? do we get any discounts? Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 can you make one of those out of stainless steel? how much you planing on selling those for? do we get any discounts? Stainless....not a shot in hell. They'd be $60 or more.....Stainless can be ornery shit to machine. I'm doing a stainless job for a medical supply company right now that I wish wasn't stainless, but it pays the bills. This one hasn't been polished yet. Typically I hold off polishing my billet until its been ordered. Some don't want them polished, others want them anodized, so no sense wasting 10-15 minutes or more in some cases. I currently sell my dip sticks at $26.00. BHQ members get 10% off and free shipping. That works out to be $26.00-$2.60=$23.40 Quote

There is a customer of mine looking to set up his own, so as of right now, I don't do a whole lot unless I have to. And yes, my hands are fucking disgusting. At the end of the day after work and the gym I can get them clean if I scrub them with an SOS pad and straight dish soap. Quote
dnhyoung Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 I just got caught up on this post, and was wondering what if you made and bar clamps. possibly with a name machined into it. Also where does a guy send you money to buy one of your yamaha dipsticks? Do you paypal?? Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 (edited) I just got caught up on this post, and was wondering what if you made and bar clamps. possibly with a name machined into it. Also where does a guy send you money to buy one of your yamaha dipsticks? Do you paypal?? I have both 1 1/8 adaptor bar clamps and 7/8 bar clamps with or without key mount. I can put simple nomenclature into the clamps if you want. Usually I just have my corporate logo on them, but since I'm not super busy right I can do that, no problem! I have even more if you want me to send you a parts list. My site is done and paid for, now I just have to get my bike polished up again and take some good pictures. ranshee Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 His bar clamps are nice Dnayoung. I bought a set a while ago and had them anodized black. Great product for a great price. I'd put up pics if a had a pic posting host. One day I'll figure it out and put some up on the site. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Stan you should look into getting HA3 Anno that stuff is tuff! Jus tmake sure you don't have to do any machining after you annodize HA3 or you will wear your machines out Quote

Jus tmake sure you don't have to do any machining after you annodize HA3 or you will wear your machines out Thats the thing though. I make billet knobs for about 5-6 different transfer cases, transmissions and wenches, and billet fire extinguisher holders too, most of which get anodized, then the shift pattern gets put into them. Its already rough on shit. What is that type of anodizing you're talking about? Is it whats sometimes called "hard anodizing"?? Like what they do to clutch baskets? Quote
bigboybanshee Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 (edited) that would be cool, send me what you got to [email protected] Here's a pic of the bar clamp with key holder. You can get em with or without I can give you pics of his brake block off, water pump cover, throttle cover, brake ressy cover, clutch insert, and soon to have one of the pipe hangers Let me know what you wanna see and I can have you some pics... Hey Stan, If you want I can give you some pics for your site...I got em if you need em Edited May 28, 2004 by bigboybanshee Quote

Gotta mask off areas that would need to be threaded etc though Edited May 28, 2004 by Justintoxicated Quote
