jeepman380 Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 I'm doing the exact same thing and they sent me the spacer head gasket kit like you have so I just took the gasket material off the top of the spacer so the head has a nice sealing serface and left the gasket on the bottom to mount on the cylinders. bbluebanshee Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 you both dont need to use a spacer at all. go to the yammy dealership and get some 795 series pistons. that will cure the spacer problem altogether. Quote
bbluebanshee Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 with the noss head, you will need to get cut domes though Quote
Proquad101 Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Both of guys need to send Dave at Noss machine a pm. He can make you a spacer alot cheaper than anybody I have seen. I have been running a spacer he made for me awhile now with no problems. He can even make it as thick as you want to get your port timing where you want it to be. Quote
jinx44 Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 795 series pistons just take care of the long rod issue. The spacer plate takes care of the stroke. I am running a long rod stroker with a spacer below the cylinders and 795 pistons. I run standard domes. Quote
picco26 Posted May 6, 2004 Author Report Posted May 6, 2004 could you have some domes cut to alow for the the longer stroke Quote
Banchetta Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Dave cut me some domes for my long rod stroker....I got rid of the spacer plate.... Quote
jinx44 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 If you send the pistons out the top and cut the domes for a 2mm recess instead of using a cylinder spacer plate, your port timing will be lower. Basically, it depends on what you are doing with the motor. I like the higher port timing for racing. Just suits me better. Quote
