89Steeda Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I just installed a IMS 5.6 tank and now my YZ High bend bars hit. I've lost half of my steering both ways. Is there any way to raise my "triple clamp"? I'm at a loss. Quote
boonman Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I raised my stem, (actually, I made my own.) and my stem ended up hitting the tank. So, about a half hour with a heat gun, and a hammer handle of all things, and the tank was whipped into shape. I also moved my bars about 1.75" forward. My bike is all wierd on the steering...... HERE is a top view of the completed setup. HERE is the view with the handlebars and the triple clamp removed........ It is all a custom Boonman creation.......... Quote
. Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 can you add an anti-vibe setup to a stock steering stem setup? Is their any other cheap way that I could raise the handlebars short of getting a longer steering stem? I remember seeing some adjustment bar thing or something of that type maybe in an ad in dirtwheels? Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 damn boon it wont let me see ur pics, says it aint a site or somethin, and abyss, i think you can add one to a stock setup, i was thinkin about the handlebar thing, u know the bottom part of the clamp...what if u made anouther one just like it, stacked it on top of the one there, and put longer bolts through it....
