Sheeboy12
I've never worked on bikes before , so i got the balls to take her apart. Learned all about wet clutches... but i can't figure out why there is nothing at my clutch lever . As far as the clutch itself, it's all ok... brand new actually. It's just the connection from the cable (holder on the block) to everything on the clutch on the right side isn't connected some how??? Broken clutch rod?? don't know what it looks like??? just damn.... wtf. I've had this thing 2 weeks...
frocashmoney24
make sure ur cables allrgiht?, see if the ball is welded to the rod inside the clutch, shee's are known for it, also check the piece that goes into the case where the cable connects, make sure thats allright
boonman
You say you have no clutch. I am betting that the pressure plate isn't lined up properly. There are arrows on the plate, that have to be lined up with the inner hub. This is explained in the Clymer manual, as is the clutch adjustment. If you don't have a manual, GET ONE!!!!!!!! THey are invaluable. Once the pressure plate is installed properly, then you can adjust the free play. There are arrows on the case and the engagement lever. They must line up. The adjuster for this is located in the center of the pressure plate.....
Sheeboy12
IT's nothing to do w/ adj. i was drag racing then after the run the clutch was stuck engagde. this sucks
boonman
AHHHHHH!!!!! Lemme guess. After the run, you pulled in the cluch, and coasted a little. My new guess is that you welded the ball to the clutch rod.....
PUSH THE THROTTLE
I agree with Boonman and Frocash sounds like you welded the rod to the ball. I would take the clutch apart and use a small magnet to pull the ball and rod out and hope to hell they do come out. Do some searches for the clutch ball and I bet you'll get all kinds of info on it. And get the Clymer it's a necessity. Good Luck.
squish
My manual shows One arrow on the hub and there is three on it. As far as the ball where is it at? I didnt see it when I had it apart. Edited April 28, 2004 by squish
Yamahammer
if you had the rod out and did not see a ball thats youre problem turn the bike on its side the cluch way and see if it rolls out maybe you put it in back wards

PUSH THE THROTTLE
If I remember correctly the ball is between the rod and the clutch so if you don't have a ball you better get one. There should be a picture in your Clymer or else you can look at the online microfich at either powersportspro.com or albaaction.com. ledofthezep
I'm wondering if my ball got welded....last time my banshee's shift fork got bound up on the shift start I rode it in 2nd & 3rd for maybe 5minutes, shut it off & had a smoke....went to head back to camp & no-go, no clutch at all. It has resistance, but doesn't engage the gear. I figured the forks got bound up screwy on the star & it just wouldn't go into a gear.? We'll see I guess when I get it all back together. bansha60
I'm guessing the same thing, it either got welded, or you lost the ball bearing when you pulled it out. I done the same thing
