streetshee Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 anybody know how long a shock id need and what spring rate for a linkless set up? shees gotta be real low,low enough that theres not enough room for the shadow! Quote
Proquad101 Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 I use the afco atv rear flattrack shock. My shock is 12 " fully extended. Go to afcoracing.com and check out there atv shocks, that seems to be the cheapest place I have seen them. Quote
streetshee Posted April 20, 2004 Author Report Posted April 20, 2004 thanks i look now, have you a pic of your set up? where are you cuttung the swinger when you shorten it? Quote
demsy Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 do u have to run a shocks made for no-link swingarm,, for can u use the stock one??? Quote
Proquad101 Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Yes you can use your stock shock. The thing you will need to do if you use the stock shock is to move the upper mount back and up about 1.5" to 1.75". If you dont do that it will not be strong enough. It's not really that hard to do, just weld some angle iron on your old mount and put some gussets on it to make it strong. Quote
jinx44 Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Low is not always better. If it is too low, it will slide too much. I also run the AFCO. I believe my spring rate is around 380, but I am heavy. They are nice because the ride height is quickly adjustable. Demsy, the stock shock is WAY to stiff. Quote
