Savage_Stoner Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Had a great ride today after work letting off some stresss...when about 30 minutes in to it...I was getting ready to go down and hill and I luckily stopped....at that moment I looked down at my from right a-arm and the top nut that is right next to the tire fell off....Got lucky that it didn't come off during my jumpin session...(kinda sad at jumpin...but I enjoy it) So the bike is parked while I do a search for a new nut....damn my stress reliever is dead for a bit..... XTShee Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I've had that happen to me, I was ripping down a trail in about 4th and the nut on the top left one came off. The front left side on the bike collapsed and I got ejected over the handle bars. That wasnt a very fun day, turned out the thread on the ball joint was screwed so i welded that sucker on, till I could afford some new aftermarkets Quote

Savage_Stoner Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 I have aftermarket Lone Stars on there and I was looking at there site and they have new ones. "These new sealed ball joints are tested and proven far stronger than previous styles.Feature 60 degrees of motion travel. 16mm X 1.50. " The are 31.35 a piece...I am seriously considering them....till then I hope I can just find the nut for it. Any one here know if Lone stars are metric or standard? Thanks for the help Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 you should be able to pick one up at a local hardware store like lowes, westlakes or home depot. Quote
Savage_Stoner Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 When I picked up the bike I noticed that the ball joint that is having a problem didn't have a whole for a cotter pin....once I get the new nut or ball joint...not sure what direction I am going if there is no whole there will be on created....
