Question About Air Filter

I am a newbie to the site but I have had my Shee since 2001. I have read all these posts about changing the air filter and getting the adapter? My questions is do I need to change the jetting or will it run right with the factoy jetting??? Any help would be appreciated..

After installing an aftermarket air filter, I'd suggest going up one jet size on the mains. Should be good to go.

yup, are you still gonna be runnin the stock box or the lid

I'm probably gonna run the air box and the lid, I ride in the woods and on fire roads so it gets very wet and muddy. Should I not use the lid???

as long as your not gunna be in water up to the top of your air box then you can run without your lid and get better power out of you shee. It really makes a good difference.

Running without the lid does give you more power, but if you ride in dusty conditions you better have an extra filter handy. The reason they say you may need to go up one on the mains is because the UNI filter should flow a little more than the stock one. If you are already using a UNI filter, you shouldn't have to change a thing. If you get a K&N you may have to go even richer.

If you change filters and run without the lid, you better go up more than 1 jet size on the mains.

Tell us what else you have... pipes etc.

What elevation are you at?
