yan Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 as i read and what my friends have told me those yfz 450 and the trx 450r are kick a** atvs. better and more reliable then a banshee. i heard that banshee can not go on long ride for long distance because on over heating and because the sheee could blow a piston at any time. how high does the rpm go on a banshee how high does the rpm go on a raptor i heard that the rpm on the yfz 450 gose up to 11 something the trx 450r gose up to 10 somthing has the banshee see its day stock to stock or miner mods like air filter ,jets, pipes Quote
nate1999mxz600 Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 well a 2 stroke can be just as reliable as a thumper.it just depends on the maintenance on the machine and how you drive it.if you are a guy who holds the throttle pinned ALL the time, sure its going to overheat.and yes i would have to say that yamaha is probably going to can the banshee.4 strokes are the future for everything Quote
broke Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 I agree that 4 strokes are the future. The EPA seems to have it's sites set on the 2 strokes. I agree that the new 450's are nice quads. As far as more reliable, how can they make that judgement on quads that just came out? I think your friends have read a few too many Dirt Wheels articles. Wait until someone grenades one of those motors, I would like to know what it really costs to rebuild it. I finally got the chance to line up with quite a few of both yesterday in many statesof tune. The fastest Yamaha had quite a bit done to it, and while impressive just didn't have enough. They would take me out of the hole every time but I would reel them in as soon as I hooked up in 3rd. I never raced one Honda all day that even impressed me. I don't know where you heard this little tidbit of info. i heard that banshee can not go on long ride for long distance because on over heating and because the sheee could blow a piston at any time. But that may be one of stupidest things I've heard on here in along time. I had mine out for six hours yesterday and I don't take any extra pistons with me. Some say the Banshees will over heat if ridden slowly, All I can say is mine never has. And As far as motors go, anything can blow a piston at any time. I usually has a lot to do with morons never learning how to jet right. how high does the rpm go on a banshee how high does the rpm go on a raptor i heard that the rpm on the yfz 450 gose up to 11 something the trx 450r gose up to 10 somthing As far as RPM's go, do you really care? Some are built to lug around at semi low RPM's while other drag set up's rev's quite high. If that is one of the stats are you are going to base your purchase on, good luck with that. has the banshee see its day Depends on what you are looking for, do some research. As far as a drag or dune quad, my opinion is no. As far as an MX quad, it never really was meant to do that anyway. I'm not going any furthure there. stock to stock or miner mods like air filter ,jets, pipes Is this a question? broke Quote
