Spyware?

my cp is fucked. i cant access any of my files and shit. all this spyware stuff keeps coming up and it is just a mess. anyone kno how i can get rid of it and get my cp back to normal? any help will be great

Go to www.download.com and do a search for Spybot, like Dirtbikez said. Make sure to check for updates before running the search in the program. I'd stay away from Adaware. It screwed up the network connections on a couple of my computers. Spyware is usually installed in popup ads so get yourself a good popup blocker. The Google toolbar blocks popups, but I can't tell ya how well it works.

Right On. Get Adaware (from Download.com), Pest Patrol, and SpyBot search and destroy. Once you've run these, and your system is clean, Go to Zonelabs.com and get the free version of ZoneAlarm firewall protection. Install this and run it ALWAYS. You'll notice a HUGE performance increase.

I use adware. It works great ,after useing it I no longer got pop ups, popin up

every 2 seconds. I run the scan 1or 2 a week. The firt time I used it I had 300 objects.

Ya'll have never had problems with Adaware? It killed my net connection on 2 or 3 computers running different OSs.

Negative. Only if it removes spyware attached to certain executable files...never had any major issues at all.

I highly recomend Webroot Spy Sweeper, it scans like adaware but also runs in the backround all the time to stop spyware before it can fook shit up. It's good to run adaware once a week still, there was a few that spysweeper missed but it's a hell of a lot better than 200 like before. It's not free though so either pay or look on kazaa. If anyone has an ftp I can upload it

Spybot also has some tools which "immunize" your computer from spyware. A forewarning: Sometimes removing spyware can kill certain programs like Kazaa.

Okay, I use to be a believer in adaware. I've told a lot of people about it on this site. I have been trying out a few... to include spybot.

 

My new favorite is spy sweeper. I can't believe how deep this goes. It will get rid of everything to include those stubborn toolbars that you don't want.

 

I do suggest to download the google toolbar. It stops popups and has a really cool search feature, auto fill feature and some other stuff. Select DISABLE advanced features and it want use the resources of your pc to send google info. Best toolbar out there.
