shortbus Posted April 9, 2004 Author Report Posted April 9, 2004 I think I spoke to soon. It's still dripping out that right side pipe. At one point it was dripping out both pipes??? I'm wondering if the carb is crap? It seems to run fine but I still don't have any idle adjustment. I think it's time to get the 12 guage out after it. Quote
banshee76179 Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 don't do anything like that! calm down.... take the motor out and double, triple check everything again! make sure everything is sealed and tourqued "spelling?", down correctly! Quote
shortbus Posted April 9, 2004 Author Report Posted April 9, 2004 The shits dripping out both pipes now?? wtf? The right pipe is dripping bad, the left pipe is dripping about half of what the right one is. Under the right side pipe I seriously have about a twelve inch cicle of black oil on the concrette just from it idling!! I'm dead possitive everything is sealed in the lower end. Everthing was torqued to spec with an inch pound torque wrench checked everywhere for cracks/pinholes in castings. I really really really have no clue what to do. Quote
shortbus Posted April 9, 2004 Author Report Posted April 9, 2004 is it possible that the radiator is building to much pressure and spewing the collant into the cylinders through the rubber plugs. Maybe the raiator is clogged? I can run it with the cap off the radiator and it wont overflow but it gets hot??? Quote
banshee76179 Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 All it will do is circulate " spelling?" water boils at 216 degree... It could be possible that the o-ring is bad... If u have oil coming out your exhaust "I have this problem" not pouring but dripping. It has to be a seal or reeds, or rings! My problem was reeds... my buddies problem was rings.. hope this helps? Quote
shortbus Posted April 9, 2004 Author Report Posted April 9, 2004 What O-Ring are you reffering to? Quote
banshee76179 Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 In your head assuming u have aftermartket.. Mine is aftermarket w/O-rings not ,gasket! Quote
boonman Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 If the cooling system was building pressure, you would get a faceful of business with the cap off. Did you "drain" the pipes before you put them back on? I would take the pipes off, drain them, clean them, and fire it back up.... Check your tranny oil watch it closely.... How did the water pump look wen you pulled the lower end apart? Quote
shortbus Posted April 9, 2004 Author Report Posted April 9, 2004 Water pump impeller looked fine when appart. I can't hardly even tell if the coolant is circulating with the cap off. It deffinetly doesn't rise when it gets hot. I took the cap off the radiator when it was hot and nothin sprayed out?? Quote
boonman Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I dunno man. It sounds to me like tranny oil is getting in there. Or you are mixed at 10:1..... The compression is 122 psi on both cylinders. Are you positive? What kind of guage. brand name? Quote
SDD Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 What kind of oil are you using and at what ratio? When was the packing changed in the silencers? Quote
shortbus Posted April 9, 2004 Author Report Posted April 9, 2004 ratio is 40:1 golden spectro. Man I'm dead positive its not trany oil. When I changed the base gaskets yesterday they had antifreeze marks on them where the plugs are and had antifreeze in the lower crank area. I just checked the radiator and hoses and they are not clogged. I know its not the crank seal because its coming from both the left and right pipes. Quote
shortbus Posted April 10, 2004 Author Report Posted April 10, 2004 Ok I took the cylinders off I can see where the gaskets arent sealing around both plugs. The rubber plugs don't seem like they had a good seal. All the sealant stuff I put on the plugs and down in the hole is gone. What kind of sealant should I use on these rubber plugs? RTV? High temp RTV? I used gasket shelac last time. The book says to use GASKASINCH,what the hell is that? Quote
