I have the whole carb installed but when you put the throttle cable into the slide the retainer has a place for a socket or whatever and the cable gets in the way of tightening it down into the slide. Any help is appreciated

yeah, especially if your trying to tighten it down with it pointing straight ahead. I just pivot mine around to the right side of the tank and run it around the right side. It's a little tight, but I can get it. If you need to, slide the metal tip out of the cap a little to get it started. That's the only thing I've seen that is a PITA with that carb/throttle setup. After 8 months, I haven't had any trouble.

Later. :bolt:

I got the cable holder tightened down to where it only need to go another 1/8 of a turn, and the open part was facing towards one of the open ends. Then slide the cable into the holder, give it some slack so its out to the side, and tighten it down all the way, then pull on the cable and it should slide right into place. I just did this a few hours ago so it should work.

i was being stupids i thought the retainer had to go all they way in to hold tha cable in. It only goes down till its against the needle top and then the line slips in and then the lil plastic piece on the spring holds the line in. Thanks for your help guys.
