ok i just cleaned the carbs....both piolets were pluged up. jetting is now piolet 30 main 280. air screw is 1 1/2 turns out. starts and runs TONS better, but it still poping out the silencers. i just had the frame painted and i cleaned the grounds but i wonder if the are not clean enough??? its kinda like it looses spark for a second and then it fires giving it a pop. i havent rode it yet to see what will happen? could it a bad coil? i have 2 other banshees that i can try the coil from?

any other ideas? also the carb bowls were on correctly, the bowl with the little jet is on the left.

The popping at an idle could be caused from your carbs being out of sync...I'd raise the needles one clip also...

I played w/ JKJK's shee w/ T5 pipes and those like some huge mains...I was up to a 350 and they were still borderline of lean, but passable. This was at sea level and 70 degrees out....so if I were you, I'd go straight to 350-360 at sea level and go from there....

i put 310 mains in it and it made it worse. i think i might have an electrical problem? when you ride it at wot it sounds like the egnition it breaking up??like it is against a revlimiter???so i put the 280 mains back in it and it is a little better but still not right!!

Sounds like you another problem besides jetting....Is the tors still connected? Little black box above the left exhaust?? Disconnect that and the parking brake switch on the handlebars, follow that towards the gas tank to a connector and disconnect it...make sure the equalizer tube between the carbs (1/4"x2") is still on also...

i think i found the problem....i think the magenets in the fly wheel are broken. i took the flywheel off and if you shake it it sounds like little parts are mooving around in it???? i'am going to pull the flywheel from the other banshee to see what happens??? are fly wheels different from year to year??? some people say they are some say all the same???

As far as I know they are the same...sounds like you sheared the key, that'll put your timing way off and cause the problem....let us know what happened.

Hey man, I was gone over part of the weekend. Glad to hear your getting close to the root of the problem. Those electrical problems can be a bitch, you get your jetting all screwed up to find something else is the problem.

Good luck and keep us in the loop.
