bpreuss
something needs to be there but i think a plug will work, not completely sure tho, i would just leave it to be safe.

a&sbanshee
your bikes should run fine with out it fellas just with the tube is make carb tunning a lil easier cuz it helps balance the 2 carbs out i personally run aluminum intakes with no tube on my bike but we got several other drag bikes that we run cross over tubes on and have no problems either so its really a matter of personal choice i think cuz i havent seen where it made a tremendous power difference

boonman
I plugged mine. I made aluminum plugs. Worked like a champ. Runs excellent. I wouldn't go back...... Try it and see for yourself, (Which it sounds like you may do)
Skiddz
Actually, that tube is there to try and take care of some of the sonic imbalances inherent in that engine. It has to do with sonic waves coming back up the intake and disrupting the smooth flow of air/fuel into the cylinder. I don't recall all the specifics, but somewhere on the net is an in-depth paper on the hows and whys of the tube and why "boost bottles" are for all intents and purposes, worthless as performance addons.
