I want the best low-mid power I can get. All mods are in my sig, except I will be getting either pt mids, fatties or a 2 into 1 pipe. I would really like to stay with a 2 into 1, but if thats not going to give me the best power I will switch back to twins. What I am looking for is low-mid power with a broad powerband. I have been told by an engine builder to switch from the 35 to a 33? Should I get the 33 or go back to twins?

With your porting, you'll probably want go back to twins, or your motor won't be getting enough air. The 34mm keihens seem to be the carb of choice for the porters, while your not stroked, it would still probably work for you. And if you want to go bigger with stroking or boring then you'd be set up.

Generally the 2 into 1 carb kit is the best mid setup in regards to intake on a stock bike, but when you get into porting and stroking, it tends to not give enough air. With mild porting, you'd probably be alright. In my opinion, I would stick with the 35mm single for awhile, and invest in the pipes your wanting. Afterwards, if it isn't enough (there will be a huge increase in midrange) then you might step up to dual 34s, but wait first. I would by no means go down to a single 33.

I'd also recommend not doing too much at one time, or you won't know what is doing what. If you do the carb and the pipes and the this and that, then you won't know what mod is favorable or not. If you get the pipes and like the power, but want more. Then get the carbs, and then its not favorable, then you know its the carbs. Make sense?

Good luck.

I race flat track with my shee and I have found for good bottom for hole shots smaller carbs work best with a set of mx pipes.I used to run stock carbs but switched to 28mm keihns. They work awsome and to get a little more top or mid range tapper bore them to 30's

I'll be testing my stockers, 28's tapered to 30, and 33's on my new motor..It's a 4 mil stroker w/ my mods below.....the 26 stock carb are the best for unported, I'll let you know in a few weeks on the other carbs on the new setup....I'll be posting my results for others....
